Materials Needed: Computer with Internet access
Purpose: The purpose of this lesson is to introduce the students to the founding fathers and research methods in preparation for their final performance task.
Procedures: Focus and Establish Review (3 minutes)
Review yesterday’s lesson with the students
Review the research process
Statement: (3 minutes)
Today we will be continuing our research on the founding father that your chose.
Teacher Input: (5 minutes)
Handout websites
Tell students that today they should be wrapping up their researching process
Guided Practice: (3 minutes)
Ask students if they have any questions about the research process or information they’ve gathered so far
Independent Practice: (40 minutes)
Students will continue their research
Closure: (5 minutes)
Tell students now that they have their research they can soon begin working on their final performance task.

Participation in research (see rubric)
Differentiation:
ELL/LD: Vocabulary lists will be provided.
AIG: AIG students will be allowed to conduct research using books in the library.
